Uvulectomy for Snoring

Michael Setzen Otolaryngology, PC great neck, manhattan: Uvelectomy for snoring

Snoring and Sleep Apnea Treatment in Great Neck and Manhattan

This is a simple office based procedure whereby the uvula is trimmed with the patient alert and awake using topical and local injection of Lidocaine.

This procedure is performed on the patient with snoring.

Snoring is due to the fact that the uvula is long and floppy and vibrates during sleeping. The uvula is that tissue present at the back of the throat and is easily accessible for an in office procedure.

The procedure usually lasts 10-15 minutes and the patient will go home after an observation period of 30 minutes.
